In august 2025,  Panchayat representatives including Sarpanches of villages under VVP-I & II were invited as ‘’special guest’’ to the Independence  Day events at the Red Fort, New Delhi  to showcase rural India’s  culture and contributions to nation-building. This participation highlights the important role of Sarpanches & Village leaders in the Vibrant Village Programme & their representation during national celebrations, fostering pride and recognition of grassroots democracy.

The Vibrant Village Programme aims for the holistic development of border and remote villages, including strengthening national security by curbing outmigration, enhancing infrastructure, and creating livelihood opportunities and cultural vibrancy through national day celebrations and community events.
