A two-day clearance sales was organised by the Department at Lempong Hall,  Directorate of Underdeveloped Areas, on Mongken apparels and home furnishings on 22nd & 23rd August, 2023. A small affair but the response was immense, people from all walks of life, came to experience the Mongken sale, trying out the apparels, sitting and talking MONGKEN CLEARANCE SALE

Launching of Mongken

Mongken a brand initiated by the Department of Underdeveloped Areas is a handholding initiative launched on 28th January 2020 to create economic opportunities for local designers, skilled artisans and craftsmen from Nagaland, with special focus on the Underdeveloped regions of the State. This ecosystem was created to promote and preserve the traditional knowledge and to Launching of Mongken

The ANGHYA brand was officially launched by the Hon’ble Governor & Hon’ble Chief Minister of Nagaland on 26th January 2019 at Secretariat Complex, Kohima.

DUDA has established Anghya market linkage hub in all the four district headquarters of Eastern Nagaland to maximise the income generation activities in rural areas with the objectives of finding livelihood solution for farmers, entrepreneurs & unemployed youth of Eastern Nagaland. Each hub serves as a collection centre and business centre for products such as The ANGHYA brand was officially launched by the Hon’ble Governor & Hon’ble Chief Minister of Nagaland on 26th January 2019 at Secretariat Complex, Kohima.

Livelihood solutions for ensuring sustainable growth during 2017-18

The advocacy and publicity workshop on Minimum Support Price (MSP) for the Minor Forest Produce (MFP) conducted by Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED), Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India and Department of Underdeveloped Areas (DUDA), Government of Nagaland was organised on July 20 at Deck, Hotel Vivor, Kohima. Activities on Road & Infrastructure during 2013 to 2017-18

Infrastructure deficit is a major concern in Eastern Nagaland. Improving connectivity and strengthening infrastructure are two important preconditions for social and economic development. Since road connectivity is a major deficit in the Eastern region, the department has connected unconnected villages, constructed culverts, retaining walls and built bridges over the years. Activities on Health Sector during 2013 to 2017-18

In health sector the department has provided medical equipment in all the 4 district Hospitals, 5 Community Health Centres, 34 Primary Health Centres and 116 Sub- Centres  totalling  up to 159 Health Centres. Besides, the department has also constructed buildings for health care and conducted Medical Camps all across Eastern Nagaland.
